Lawal Pedro SAN(Legal Adviser)

Lawal Mohammed Alade Pedro was born in Lagos in the area known as Campos the Brazilian Quarters of Lagos Island to the families of LIBENTO MOMOH PEDRO and OJUTIKU-AMBOSE BRANCH OF AKINSEMOYIN ROYAL FAMILY.

HE attended Christ Church Cathedral Primary School, Broad Street, Lagos where he obtained the 1st School Leaving Certificate; Anwar-Ul-Islam College Agege, Lagos (formerly known as Ahamadiyya College, Agege) from and Methodist Boys High School, Lagos where he obtained his West African School Certificate and Higher School Certificate respectively.

From there, he proceeded to Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, to study law and graduated with a 2nd Class Upper Division in 1985. He attended the Nigerian Law School and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1986. Upon graduation, he had his mandatory youth service (NYSC) as a Legal Officer in the Ibadan Western Regional Office of First Bank of Nigeria Plc. Thereafter he cut his teeth as a Barrister in the Chambers of Dele Akinmusuti & Co. with offices in Ibadan and Lagos.

He joined the Lagos State Ministry of Justice in December 1987 and worked in various directorates and became Director of Civil Litigation in the year 2006; a position he held until he was appointed the Solicitor General Of Lagos State and Permanent Secretary of the Lagos State Ministry of Justice in April 2008. In recognition of his contributions and dedication to the legal profession in Nigeria, he was called to Inner Bar in December 2008 as a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN).

He is a fellow Chartered Institute of Arbitrators Nigeria and an examiner of the Institute of Arbitrators Nigeria. He is also an author of law books. He retired from the public service of Lagos State Government in August 2015 to commence his private legal practice in the firm of Lawal Pedro,SAN & Associates with offices in Lagos And Abuja. He is happily married with children and enjoy reading, watching movies, traveling and sports.
